White Sox Place Eloy Jimenez On 10-Day Injured List
2 years agoThe Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Eloy Jimenez (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 4) on Wednesday with a low-grade left hamstring strain and recalled infielder Jake Burger from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Jimenez is expected to miss the next two to three weeks, but fantasy managers in all formats should keep him stashed in an IL spot on their roster. The oft-injured 26-year-old has plenty of ability on the diamond, but he continues to be hindered by injuries. With Jimenez out, Gavin Sheets should see more playing time between the outfield and first base. In the first five games of the season, Jimenez had gone 4-for-19 (.211) with two doubles, three RBI, two runs scored, three walks and six strikeouts.
