Mariners Acquire Nick Solak From Reds
2 years agoThe Seattle Mariners acquired outfielder Nick Solak from the Cincinnati Reds on Friday in exchange for cash considerations. The move comes after the Reds designated Solak for assignment on Thursday, and he'll report to Triple-A Tacoma to begin the 2023 season. The 28-year-old former second-rounder of the New York Yankees in 2016 hit a combined .252/.327/.372 with a .700 OPS, 21 home runs, 93 RBI, 117 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 253 games played in his four seasons for the Texas Rangers coming into this season. It could be difficult for Solak to find his way onto a much-improved Seattle big-league roster, so for now, he's only worth stashing in deep AL-only leagues.
