DeAndre Hopkins To Stay With Cardinals?
2 years agoArizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said he expects wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to remain with the team. Hopkins is set to count just under $30 million against the 2023 salary cap, though, and the team would save around $9 million and carry around $21 million in dead money this year if they traded him, but the acquiring team would still be taking on $19.45 million in cash and cap for a receiver who turns 31 in June. Nuk still has something left in the tank, but ESPN's Dan Graziano couldn't find a team at the owners meetings this week that sounded willing to acquire him without Arizona eating some of the money. The Patriots were rumored to be interested, but it sounds like Hopkins' history with new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien is an impediment to a trade.
