2 years agoBoston Red Sox utility prospect Ceddanne Rafaela will open the campaign in Double-A Portland. Ranked as the No. 86 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline, Rafaela struggled this spring. He managed just seven hits and a .454 OPS in 32 at-bats. Still, Rafaela's defensive prowess should have him ascend to the major leagues before long. He spent most of 2022 in center field and has excelled at shortstop, second base, and third base, demonstrating the ability to plug in anywhere. Rafaela is no offensive slouch either, slashing .299/.342/.539 with 21 home runs and 28 stolen bases in 116 minor-league appearances last season.--Kevin Hickey - RotoBaller
