Leody Taveras Out Another Week
2 years agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that outfielder Leody Taveras (oblique) will miss "maybe a week" as he continues to recover from an oblique injury that has kept him out since March 3. The most likely option to fill in at center field for the Rangers with Taveras on the shelf is Adolis Garcia. In his third MLB season in 2022, Taveras hit .261/.309/.366 with a .675 OPS, five home runs, 34 RBI, 39 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 314 plate appearances and 99 games. Bubba Thompson should also benefit from more playing time with Taveras on the injured to begin the 2023 regular season. Speed is by far Taveras' greatest asset to fantasy managers.
