Darick Hall To See Bulk Of Starts At First Base
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Darick Hall is expected to see most of his playing time coming at first base, according to Phillies president Dave Dombrowski. This comes a day after Rhys Hoskins (knee) tore his ACL on a non-contact play. It's uncertain if Hall is going to play against both righty and lefty pitchers. This could very well end up as a platoon situation, but Hall is still worth a look as a deep league option. He smashed nine home runs and 16 RBI in 42 games with the Phillies last season. The 27-year-old has already hit five homers this spring. The left-handed slugger has a ton of power, but also is prone to strikeout quite a bit. It sounds like the Phillies are going to give Hall a chance to prove himself.
