2 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (side) is scheduled to make his first start of the spring against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. The 34-year-old has been slowly working his way back from a side issue. He threw a 24-pitch simulated game on Tuesday. The expectation is that he'll throw two or three innings during his first start. The team isn't going to have him fully built up in time for Opening Day. The Rangers are going to be extremely cautious with deGrom. When healthy, deGrom is an ace, but keeping him on the field has been a problem throughout his career.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
