Marcus Mariota Joins Eagles
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles have signed free-agent quarterback Marcus Mariota. The two sides agree to a one-year, $5 million contract for the upcoming season. It's worth noting that Mariota can earn up to $8 million with incentives. The former first rounder will replace Gardner Minshew as the backup to Jalen Hurts. Last season, Mariota threw for 2,219 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 13 games with the Atlanta Falcons. This move gives the Eagles one of the better backups in the league and added insurance in case Hurts does suffer an injury at some point. Mariota is not expected to have fantasy value unless Hurts goes down.
