Patriots Scoop Up James Robinson On Two-Year Deal
2 years agoThe New England Patriots are signing free-agent running back James Robinson to a two-year deal worth up to $8 million on Wednesday, according to a source. Robinson became a free agent this offseason when the New York Jets decided not to tender him a contract for the 2023 season. The Jets acquired Robinson in a trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022, but he was barely used, carrying the ball 29 times for 85 yards in four games for Gang Green. Rhamondre Stevenson will enter the 2023 campaign as the Patriots' primary back, but Robinson could carve out a role behind him with Damien Harris on the free-agent market. The Patriots also have Pierre Strong Jr. and Ty Montgomery, among others, and we know how Bill Belichick likes to rotate his RBs.
