Panthers Expected To Sign Hayden Hurst
2 years agoThe Carolina Panthers are expected to sign former Cincinnati Bengals tight end and first-rounder Hayden Hurst, according to a source. Hurst will give whoever the Panthers' new quarterback is another weapon in 2023. Carolina signed veteran Andy Dalton on Tuesday, but they're fully expected to take their next franchise signal-caller at No. 1 overall in next month's draft. In his one season in Cincinnati in 2022, the 29-year-old Hurst had 52 receptions on 68 targets for 414 yards and two touchdowns in 13 regular season starts. The Panthers also have Ian Thomas and Tommy Tremble, so don't expect Hurst to see consistent targets at the position or enough to put him on the TE1 map in his first year in Carolina. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Hurst is expected to receive a three-year deal.
