2 years agoThe Atlanta Falcons acquired tight end Jonnu Smith from the New England Patriots on Monday, according to sources. The Patriots will receive a seventh-round pick in exchange. Trading away Smith will open up some 2023 salary cap space for the Patriots while also cementing Hunter Henry in as their unquestioned top pass-catching tight end. In Atlanta, the 27-year-old Smith will play second fiddle to starting TE Kyle Pitts. Smith has fallen off the fantasy radar the last two seasons while playing in New England, catching 55 passes on 83 targets for 539 yards and only one touchdown in 30 games (19 starts). The move to the Falcons will do nothing to put him back on the fantasy map in 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
