Kodai Senga Throws On Flat Ground Monday
2 years agoAfter a couple days of rest, New York Mets right-hander Kodai Senga (finger) threw off flat ground on Monday morning from around 90 feet. Senga didn't appear to be throwing at maximum effort, but it was a step in the right direction. The Japanese hurler is confident he'll be ready for the start of the season despite dealing with tendinitis at the base of his right index finger. We'll keep a close eye on the 30-year-old starter as he gets ready for his first season in the big leagues. Senga was one of the most dominant pitchers in Japan over the last decade, but he's expected to have his growing pains in the majors as he fills the Mets' No. 3 rotation spot behind aces Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander.
