Ke'Bryan Hayes Back In Grapefruit League Lineup
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (thumb) is back in the team's Grapefruit League lineup on Saturday against the New York Yankees and right-hander Ryan Weber. Hayes is starting at third base and hitting leadoff. Hayes was held out of spring action for a couple days this week with soreness in his left thumb, but it was nothing serious and he's back in there on Saturday. The 26-year-old will be looking to bounce back this year after hitting .244/.314/.345 with a .659 OPS, seven home runs, 41 RBI, 55 runs scored and 20 stolen bases in 560 plate appearances and 136 games in his third big-league season in 2022. Injuries were partly to blame. More power could be on the way if he puts the ball in the air more, but fantasy managers should mainly be paying for Hayes' speed at the third base position.
