Noah Song Shut Down With Back Tightness
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-hander Noah Song (back) has been shut down due to tightness in his back, according to the team. Song had an MRI exam and will be re-evaluated next week. It's now unlikely he'll be ready for the start of the 2023 regular season. The 25-year-old was away from baseball the last two years while in the Navy, but the Phillies took him in the Rule 5 draft back in December. Fantasy managers shouldn't really have any expectations for him if he sticks on the team's roster all year. In seven starts for Low-A in the Boston Red Sox's organization in 2019, he had a sharp 1.06 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, five walks and 19 strikeouts in 17 innings, and the Phillies clearly like his long-term potential as a starter.
