2 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston has been given an opportunity to remain with the organization. The team has reportedly offered Winston a restructured deal to stay with the team in 2023. Otherwise, the Saints are expected to cut Winston by next Wednesday. The former No. 1 pick has been limited to 14 games (10 starts) with the Saints since 2020. It's worth noting that Winston threw for 1,170 passing yards with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions before tearing his ACL in Week 8 of the 2021 campaign. The expectation is that Winston would likely have to compete for a starting job, assuming he leaves the Saints.
