Texans Pushing To Sign Jimmy Garoppolo?
2 years agoThere's a push within the Houston Texans building to sign San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason and play him in 2023 while drafting a QB at some point in the first round with the plan to sit him for a year, according to sources. The Texans have picks at No. 2 overall and 12 in the first round with more than $40 million in salary cap space right now. Houston hired Bobby Slowik from the 49ers to be their new offensive coordinator, so it makes sense. However, Garoppolo will be able to choose his next team on the free-agent market, and he could generate plenty of interest from a handful of teams. If the Texans do sign Jimmy G, it would likely be on a heavily incentivized deal due to his lengthy injury history.
