Kyle Wright Could Make Spring Debut Next Week
2 years agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Kyle Wright (shoulder) will throw a side session on Tuesday and live batting practice on Friday, and he could make his Grapefruit League debut next week. It sets him up to make three spring starts before Opening Day. Wright could make another start against minor-leaguers and then be lined up for the second series of the regular season against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 27-year-old is being in camp after needing a cortisone injection in his shoulder in January. Wright broke out for Atlanta in 2022 with a league-high 21 wins, career-best 3.19 ERA (3.58 FIP), 1.16 WHIP and 174 strikeouts in 180 1/3 innings (30 starts). Some regression could be in store, but Wright should still be considered a very solid fantasy starter.
