Tony Gonsolin Injures Ankle Monday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin (ankle) appeared to roll his left ankle during a drill in spring training on Monday. He spent time with the training staff before heading back into the clubhouse. It's unclear exactly how serious the ankle injury is, but we should have an update either later on Monday or Tuesday. The 28-year-old right-hander was a staple in the Dodgers' starting rotation last year and had an All-Star campaign by going 16-1 with a career-best 2.14 ERA (3.28 FIP), 0.87 WHIP and 23.9 percent strikeout rate in 130 1/3 innings over 24 starts. Gonsolin was injured late in the year, though, and appeared to be running out of gas after a previous career high of only 55 2/3 innings pitched in 2021. Pitching for the Dodgers gives him more appeal for wins, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect an improvement over last year.
