2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (knee), who has been on a slower progression than usual this spring after having a minor knee procedure in the offseason, will make his Grapefruit League debut as the designated hitter on Friday against the Detroit Tigers. Hoskins is then scheduled to make his spring debut at first base this Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays. The 29-year-old slugger is fully expected to be ready by Opening Day. Hoskins had a career-low fly-ball rate in 2022 but still managed 30 home runs, the second-highest mark of his career.
