Alvin Kamara Pleads Not Guilty
2 years agoNew Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara pled not guilty to conspiracy to commit battery (a misdemeanor) and substantial bodily harm (felony) at a courthouse in Nevada. His trial is set for July 31. If he's found guilty, his discipline would likely come in the 2023 season. Kamara and three others were indicted in February on a felony charge of battery with substantial harm and a gross misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit battery after they were accused of attacking a man last year. Kamara's attorneys previously said that Kamara was "defending himself and others at the time of the incident." The 27-year-old only accounted for four total touchdowns last year despite racking up 1,300 scrimmage yards as the Saints' leading back. With a potential suspension looming over him in 2023, though, fantasy managers should be hesitant to rely on him as their RB1.
