German Marquez Throws Live BP Tuesday
2 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez (hamstring) threw a two-inning live batting practice session on Tuesday, and his next action will be in a Cactus League game in a few days. Marquez is a bit behind the other pitchers in camp while dealing with left hamstring soreness, but he's coming along nicely now and will have plenty of time to get ready for Opening Day at the end of March. The 28-year-old is probably the most attractive fantasy starter for the Rockies, but that isn't saying much. At best, he's probably a streaming option away from Coors Field in deeper leagues. He went 9-13 in 31 starts last year, posting a 4.95 ERA (4.71 FIP), 1.36 WHIP and weak 19.3 percent strikeout rate in 181 2/3 innings for the Rockies.
