Jaguars Sign C.J. Beathard To Contract Extension
2 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Friday that they re-signed quarterback C.J. Beathard to an undisclosed contract extension before he became a free agent. Beathard has been in Jacksonville the last two years and will remain as the primary backup to young signal-caller Trevor Lawrence in 2023. In his two years with the Jaguars after spending the first three seasons of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, Beathard has gone 9-for-13 for 68 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in just six games played (zero starts). The 29-year-old came on in relief of Lawrence in four games last year and totaled 35 passing yards and an interception on 11 passing attempts.
