Yerry Rodriguez Looking For Permanent Bullpen Spot
2 years agoTexas Rangers right-hander Yerry Rodriguez is looking for a permanent bullpen job with the Rangers in spring training this year. The Dominican product signed for $60,000 in 2015 and made his major-league debut with a scoreless inning on the final day of the 2022 season. He has a running fastball that reaches 100 mph and a sweeping low-80s slider. In 59 innings at Triple-A last year before his call-up, Rodriguez had a 4.27 ERA with 73 strikeouts. The 25-year-old initially came to the Rangers as a starter, but he has since transitioned into a relief role and could be a big weapon out of the bullpen in 2023, even if he doesn't make the club out of spring training. He can be avoided for now for fantasy purposes, but he's a bullpen arm to keep an eye on in Texas.
