Buccaneers Consider Kyle Trask An Efficient "Point Guard"
2 years agoNew Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales said he views quarterback Kyle Trask as a very efficient "point guard." Trask did a good job at the University of Florida distributing the football to future NFL weapons in tight end Kyle Pitts, wide receiver Kadarius Toney and running back Dameon Pierce. It sounds as though the Bucs won't ask too much of Trask under center if he ends up being their starter in 2023 as they move on to life after Tom Brady, who retired following the 2022 campaign. The 24-year-old Trask was a second-rounder in 2021, but with Brady around, he only attempted nine passes in one game in the last two years. Tampa will surely look into upgrading the QB position through the draft, free agency and the trade market, so Trask is no lock to start next season.
