Michael Soroka Plays Catch Saturday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Michael Soroka (hamstring) played catch on Saturday, according to manager Brian Snitker. The Braves are being very cautious with Soroka in spring training. The 25-year-old was becoming a borderline ace for the Braves before tearing his Achilles in each of the last two seasons. A sore elbow also sidelined him at the end of last season. Soroka's hamstring issue isn't serious, but the Braves aren't taking any chances with him early in camp as he competes for the fifth spot in the starting rotation. There's still potential for Soroka to return to his pre-injury form because he's still very young, but workload restrictions this year will keep his fantasy ceiling low if he's able to win a rotation spot and stay healthy.
