Mac Jones Reportedly Not Guaranteed To Start In 2023-24
2 years agoAccording to NFL journalist Albert Breer, there isn't a "massive gap" internally between New England Patriots quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. Head coach Bill Belichick didn't answer when asked at the end of the season if Jones would remain the team's starter moving ahead. As a result, the former Alabama signal-caller could be in line for a demotion. There are also rumblings that Jones could be traded, with a recent report indicating Josh McDaniels is interested in bringing him to Vegas. Jones finished his second year in the league with 2,997 passing yards and 14 touchdowns, a decrease from his rookie campaign. The 24-year-old also had a few disagreements with Belichick during the season, which won't help his chances of remaining under center for the Patriots.
