Colts Officially Hire Shane Steichen As Head Coach
2 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts officially hired Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen as their new head coach on Tuesday, according to the team. The Colts are looking to rebound in 2023 after going 4-12-1 last year, and they are looking for long-term stability at quarterback, which is a big reason they went with an offensive-minded head coach. Steichen received significant credit for the Eagles rise on offense the last two years under quarterback Jalen Hurts. Indy has the fourth overall pick in this year's draft and are widely expected to take one of the top available signal-callers. The 37-year-old Steichen has already worked with the likes of Philip Rivers, Justin Herbert and Hurts after initially entering the coaching ranks as a defensive assistant with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2011.
