Taylor Lewan Expects To Be Released; Could Retire
2 years agoTennessee Titans three-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Taylor Lewan (knee) said he expects to be released before he has to decide whether or not he wants to continue his career. Lewan only played in two games in 2022 before being placed on season-ending Injured Reserve due to a knee injury. Injuries have been an issue for the 31-year-old in recent years, as he's missed a total of 30 games in the last three years, which ultimately has him considering retirement this offseason. By cutting him, the Titans would free up $14.8 million in salary cap space for 2023. If this is the end for Lewan, he will have played all nine of his NFL seasons for the Titans after they selected him 11th overall in the 2014 draft out of Michigan. Lewan made the Pro Bowl in three straight seasons from 2016-18.
