Aleksander Barkov Injured In Blowout Win
2 years agoFlorida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov left Monday's 7-1 win over Tampa Bay in the second period with a hand injury. He was hit by a puck in the hand area and headed to the locker room with eight minutes remaining in the period. Barkov finished with 10:25 of ice time and couldn't get any points despite his team's dominant display, meaning his career-high 11-game scoring streak ended. The Panthers captain has already had multiple health issues this season, which have limited him to 43 appearances, but there was good news after Monday's game, as head coach Paul Maurice noted that there's a good chance Barkov will be ready for the next game on Thursday against San Jose.
