2 years agoDallas Mavericks forward/center Christian Wood (thumb) suffered a fractured left thumb during Wednesday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks. He is expected to miss some time but will be reevaluated next week. The 27-year-old has played well this season, averaging 18.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks while shooting an efficient 38.5% from deep. Fortunately, the Mavs just got Dorian Finney-Smith (adductor) back from a 14-game absence, which will help lessen the blow. Dwight Powell and JaVale McGee may see more minutes while Wood is out of the lineup.
