Mets Considering Tommy Pham
2 years agoWith outfielder Andrew McCutchen returning to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the New York Mets are now considering free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham as their fourth outfielder, among others. Trey Mancini, Adam Duvall, Jurickson Profar and Tyler Naquin are other possibilities that remain on the open market. Pham became a free agent this offseason when the Boston Red Sox declined his $6 million mutual option for 2023. The 34-year-old hit a combined .236/.312/.374 with a .686 OPS, 17 home runs, 63 RBI, 89 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 622 plate appearances and 144 combined games for the Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds in 2022. He's no longer the on-base machine he used to be in his prime, but he'd make for a decent fourth outfielder for the Mets.
