Patriots Working On Extension For Jerod Mayo
2 years agoThe New England Patriots announced on Thursday that they are working toward retaining linebackers coach Jerod Mayo. He played eight seasons for the Patriots from 2008 to 2015 and just finished his fourth season as an assistant coach with the team. Mayo has received interest from other teams for head-coaching positions, with the Carolina Panthers the most recent club to request an interview with Mayo. The Cleveland Browns have also requested to interview Mayo for their defensive coordinator position this week. Mayo was in charge of linebackers in 2022 but also shared many defensive coordinator duties with head coach Bill Belichick's son, Steve.
