Connor Seabold Designated For Assignment
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox designated right-hander Connor Seabold for assignment on Thursday to make room on the 40-man roster for the recently signed Corey Kluber. In his second major-league season with the Red Sox in 2022, Seabold had a rough go of it, allowing 24 runs (23 earned) on 35 hits (five home runs) while walking eight and striking out 19 in 18 1/3 innings pitched over five starts. The 26-year-old has a 10.55 ERA (6.82 FIP), 2.25 WHIP and 19 strikeouts in his six major-league starts with Boston, but he's been much better in the minor leagues. In his last two seasons at Triple-A Worcester, Seabold has fanned 141 batters over 140 2/3 innings.
