Commanders Fire Offensive Coordinator Scott Turner
2 years agoThe Washington Commanders parted ways with offensive coordinator Scott Turner on Tuesday, according to sources. Turner had been with head coach Ron Rivera for seven seasons, including the last three in Washington. He'll move on after the Commanders finished a third straight season with poor offensive rankings -- 20th in total yards and 26th in points in 2022. There appeared to be a divide between Rivera's vision of a power running game and Turner's vertical passing attack, and players were critical of it down the stretch. With Turner now gone, it's good news for the team's RBs heading into 2023, especially Brian Robinson Jr. as he heads into his sophomore season. The quarterback situation must be addressed as well, with Washington potentially moving on from Carson Wentz.
