D'Andre Swift Won't Need Offseason Surgery
2 years agoDetroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) played most of the 2022 season with ankle and shoulder injuries, but he said he won't need offseason surgery. He plans to meet with "a couple doctors" about his injuries, but he assumes he will return to full health with rest this offseason. Swift suffered a high-ankle sprain in the season opener and then separated his left shoulder two weeks later, which made him a frustrating fantasy commodity for most of the year. He averaged a career-best 5.5 yards per carry on the year, but he missed three games and had a career-low 99 carries in total for 542 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games. But the 23-year-old finished strong the final two weeks and should be a big part of Detroit's rushing attack again in 2023. Swift should bounce back for fantasy managers with better health.
