2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (ankle, knee) returned to practice on Friday and has been cleared to play in Week 18 against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. McCaffrey was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to some speculation that he may not play this weekend. The 26-year-old will be active against Arizona, but there's not a guarantee that he'll see his normal heavy workload. The Niners still have a shot at the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC with a win and an Eagles loss, but depending on how things are going on Sunday, CMC could be pulled early. He'll also have more competition for backfield touches with the expected return of Elijah Mitchell (knee), who is coming off Injured Reserve.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
