New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has shown impressive progression throughout the season. The undrafted receiver has shined when given opportunities and has only seen his opportunity share increase over the past six weeks.
Shaheed had the third-most all-purpose yards in Weber State history, where he played from 2017-2021, with 5,478 yards. He logged seven kickoff returns for touchdowns in his college career, setting an FCS record.
Shaheed has shown his explosiveness all season long and is the only player in the last 30 seasons to average over 18 yards per catch while also catching at least 80% of his targets (min. 30 targets). That production level should earn more opportunities, and New Orleans has been gifting them to him recently.

What Did Rashid Shaheed Do In Week 17?
Shaheed had his highest target and reception output of his career in Week 17’s upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles, catching all six targets for 79 yards.
Shaheed has now led the team in receiving yards for four straight games, averaging nearly five targets per game.
His usage has recently been on par with first-rounder Chris Olave, who has had a very productive rookie season.
What Is Rashid Shaheed's Week 18 Outlook?
Rashid Shaheed should continue to see opportunity in Week 18’s matchup with the Carolina Panthers in a game between two teams that have been eliminated from playoff contention. The rookie is a WR3 option going into Week 18 and could be an interesting DFS play.
Shaheed has not had less than four targets since Week 12 and should continue to see deep pass opportunities.
The Carolina secondary just gave up a 10-207-3 stat line to Mike Evans a week ago and is no stranger to getting burnt. They have allowed 25.3 points per game in their last four games.
Should I Pick Up Rashid Shaheed?
Rashid Shaheed is an intriguing play for Week 18 in leagues that are still playing. He recently earned praise from head coach Dennis Allen, who has continued to expand Shaheed’s opportunities throughout the season.
Shaheed can be put in the flex as a high-ceiling option for Week 18. In dynasty and keeper leagues, he is an intriguing add as he will likely retain a role in the New Orleans offense next season with his late-season emergence and ground-breaking speed.
