Ja Morant Stands Out Against Sacramento
2 years agoMemphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant took full advantage of a favorable matchup and poured in 35 points in a 118-108 victory over the Kings Sunday. Sacramento gives up the eighth-most points in the league to opposing points guards, and Morant was able to get his with 13-for-23 shooting. He struggled from deep with a 1-for-5 effort, but it was still an efficient scoring performance. The Grizzlies star didn't settle for just scoring either, adding eight rebounds and five assists to his tally with one steal and one block. Morant has now gone for 30-plus points in four of his past five appearances, and even in the game he failed to hit the mark, Morant made fantasy managers grin by dishing out a career-high 17 assists. He's hit great form and there should be more to come from him on Wednesday against the Hornets, who also struggle to contain point guards.
