Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa struggled on the Christmas Day game against Green Bay, throwing three straight interceptions to choke away a shot at winning the game.
Tagovailoa entered concussion protocol on Monday, raising concerns about his integrity in reporting symptoms.
Tagovailoa has been at the center of discussions regarding concussions this season after re-entering a Week 3 game against Buffalo after seemingly being knocked out, only to go down and stay down on the field in Week 4 just four days later in a Thursday game against Cincinnati.

Tua Tagovailoa Injury Updates
Update 12/28: Adam Schefter reported that Tagovailoa actually did suffer a concussion on Sunday. Teddy Bridgewater will start in Week 17.
Tua Tagovailoa Injury News
Players around the league have opinions on Tua returning to action this season. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen knows that as a competitor, Tua wants to be on the field but it may not be the smart decision.
Robert Griffin III agreed that Tagovailoa should sit for the rest of the season and keep his long-term health in mind:
It was confirmed that Tagovailoa showed no symptoms of a concussion during Sunday’s game, and he self-reported the symptoms on Monday.
Is Tua Tagovailoa Injured or Playing in Week 17?
With the scrutiny Tagovailoa has faced this season related to concussions as well as keeping his long-term health in mind, it is very unlikely that he suits up in Week 17. His status for the rest of the season is in doubt as well, despite Miami being in position to fight for a playoff spot.
As a competitor, this is hard for Tagovailoa to deal with and everyone can imagine he is doing all that he can to get back on the field. That status is very cloudy with the nature of the concussions he has faced this season.
Sunday’s game between Miami and New England holds massive playoff implications, but it is looking more and more unlikely that Tagovailoa will be on the field.
Be prepared to downgrade all Miami offensive options against a strong New England defense with Teddy Bridgewater likely to be under center.
