Tua Tagovailoa Showed No Symptoms Of A Concussion
2 years agoNFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills said on Tuesday that Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (head) showed zero injury behaviors and reported zero symptoms "that would have triggered the (league's concussion) protocol" during the Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. However, head coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that Tagovailoa had been put in the league's concussion protocol after reporting symptoms. It's not uncommon for people to show symptoms on a delayed basis, though, and this is the second time that Tagovailoa has been in the concussion protocol. His multiple head injuries in 2022 calls into question his availability for the rest of the season. If the 24-year-old cannot get cleared this week, backup Teddy Bridgewater would be in line to start in Week 17 against the New England Patriots.
