Antonio Gibson Dealing With A Sprain
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson is dealing with a "sprain," according to head coach Ron Rivera. However, Rivera wouldn't reveal the specific body part, and it sounds like a concerning injury for Gibson. With Gibson dealing with the injury in the Week 16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Jonathan Williams saw more work in the backfield behind rookie Brian Robinson, seeing five touches (three carries, two catches) for 42 scrimmage yards. Gibson played a season-low 29 percent of the offensive snaps while seeing five carries for 10 yards. He also caught two passes for 21 yards. We'll have a better idea of the 24-year-old's status when the team resumes practicing on Wednesday, but there's a good chance Gibson won't play in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns.
