Arizona Cardinals quarterback Colt McCoy started for the team in Week 15 since Kyler Murray (torn ACL) is out for the season. However, McCoy picked up an injury of his own and his Week 16 status is up in the air.
McCoy has kept James Conner and DeAndre Hopkins at least afloat in terms of fantasy production, but a new quarterback for Arizona could mean diminished value for all of the Cardinals' offensive weapons.
What's the latest scoop on McCoy's injury, who will start for Arizona if he's out, and how will the running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends be affected? We'll dive into it.

Colt McCoy Injury Update for Fantasy Football
McCoy (head) didn't return to Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos after leaving in the second half. The veteran finished with 95 yards and two interceptions off 7-for-15 passing prior to his premature departure. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury provided an update after the game, confirming that McCoy is in concussion protocol, so he'll need to clear some hurdles before the Sunday Night Football showdown versus Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in Week 16.
If he can't suit up, Trace McSorley would presumably get the start. McSorley filled in after McCoy went down, although he didn't play much better, amassing 78 yards and a pick.
Colt McCoy Injury Fallout
If McCoy can't play and McSorley starts for Arizona, DeAndre Hopkins should still be started, but he will be lower in rankings than ever before and carries plenty of risk into Week 16 against the Buccaneers. Hopkins has thrived with all kinds of quarterbacks dating back to his days in Houston, and backup QBs usually key in on their No. 1 wide receiver.
However, Marquise Brown, who totaled just 19 receiving yards in Week 16, should be benched in all formats. Running back James Conner will also likely remain a start in fantasy, but he's also riskier than ever considering Arizona will mightily struggle to move the ball and get into scoring territory. Trey McBride and any other Cardinals' pass-catcher will remain off the fantasy radar, regardless of McCoy's status.
Murray and McCoy going down is certainly a tough break for fantasy managers in the second round of the fantasy football playoffs who have been relying on Cardinals' players, but that's just the name of the game in fantasy football.
