2 years agoWith shortstop Xander Bogaerts now in San Diego, Boston Red Sox infielder Trevor Story is the current favorite to start at the 6 to open the 2023 season. However, an outside addition can't be discounted, and the Red Sox are reportedly very serious in signing free-agent shortstop Dansby Swanson, which would in turn keep Story at the keystone. Story is a natural shortstop, having played exclusively at the position in 733 games with the Colorado Rockies from 2016 to 2021 before moving to second for Boston this past season. However, questions about Story's throwing arm have raised some concerns about his defense in recent years. From a fantasy standpoint, adding shortstop eligibility would only be a good thing for Story's fantasy stock after a down year offensively in his first year in Beantown while also dealing with injuries.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
