Twins Will Consider Dansby Swanson
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins will now consider signing free-agent shortstop Dansby Swanson after failing to re-sign Carlos Correa. The Twins made a decent attempt to reunite with Correa, offering close to $285 million for 10 years, but he chose to go to San Francisco for a whopping 13 years and $350 million on Tuesday night. USA TODAY Sports' Bob Nightengale reports that Swanson's free-agent market has skyrocketed with the recent big signings of Correa, Xander Bogaerts and Trea Turner. Along with the Twins, the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are all in play for Swanson. The 28-year-old is considered to be a tier below the three other marquee shortstops, but he was an All-Star in 2022 when he hit .277/.329/.447 with 25 home runs, 96 RBI, 99 runs scored and 18 stolen bases in all 162 regular season games.
