Mets, Rangers In On Jameson Taillon
2 years agoThe New York Mets and Texas Rangers are among many teams that are interested in free-agent right-hander Jameson Taillon. He has a huge market and will get an extremely good deal in this market. Pitching is at a premium this offseason. The Rangers have already signed Jacob deGrom to a five-year deal and also traded for Jake Odorizzi, but they may not be done adding to their starting rotation for 2023 and beyond. The Mets are looking to pair another ace alongside Max Scherzer after losing deGrom, and they appear to be choosing between either Justin Verlander or Carlos Rodon. Taillon went 14-5 for the New York Yankees in 2022 with a 3.91 ERA (3.94 FIP), a 1.13 WHIP, 151 strikeouts and 32 walks in 177 1/3 innings over his 32 starts.
