Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is having a productive 2022 season. The former Miami Hurricane star is the TE11 for the year, averaging 8.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Furthermore, the former first-round pick is the TE7 on a points-per-game basis, ahead of a few big-name players, including Darren Waller, Dalton Schultz, and Kyle Pitts.
Unfortunately, the star tight end has missed two games this year because of injuries.

Is David Njoku Healthy Or Injured?
Njoku missed two games earlier this season because of a high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens. Unfortunately, the veteran tight end suffered a knee injury last week in the overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The former Miami star didn’t practice on Wednesday. However, the team is optimistic that their star tight end can play this week against the Houston Texans. However, which tight end on the waiver wire should fantasy players pickup if Njoku can’t play?
What Tight End Should I Add Off The Waiver Wire?
New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson is a popular streamer this week. He is available in over 65% of ESPN leagues.
Last week he failed to catch either of his two targets against the San Francisco 49ers. However, the entire New Orleans offense struggled. Furthermore, the 49ers are one of the best teams at defending the tight end position this season.
Over the previous five games, Johnson had five receiving touchdowns and averaged 11.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he scored 11 or more fantasy points in four of those contests. More importantly, the veteran was the TE3 during that span.
This week Johnson has an excellent fantasy matchup. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have surrendered 11.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to tight ends this year, the sixth-most in the NFL. They have given up 59 receptions to the position this season, the fifth-most in the league.
Moreover, Njoku caught five of his seven targets for 29 receiving yards and caught a touchdown against Tampa Bay last week. He scored 11.4 half-point PPR fantasy points in the game. If the Cleveland tight end can’t play this week, fantasy players should pickup Johnson and start him against the Buccaneers.
