2 years agoWinnipeg Jets winger Nikolaj Ehlers (lower body) is set to undergo hernia surgery and will be sidelined indefinitely. He has already missed a month of action after skating in only the first two games of the season. Ehlers enjoyed a hot start, posting three points. This is very unfortunate news for the player and the team, although the Jets are off to a really good start to the season and have managed to cope with the absence of Ehlers so far. With Mason Appleton (wrist) also having hit the shelf, Sam Gagner has moved to the top line and will hope to extend his point streak to three games Saturday versus Pittsburgh.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
