DeVonta Smith Looks To Bounce Back In Week 9
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith will face the Houston Texans Thursday night. The sophomore had his third-lowest fantasy outing of the season last week while teammate A.J. Brown caught three touchdowns. However, Smith was still targeted eight times and will continue to have good to great fantasy weeks as the No. 2 receiving option for the high-powered Philadelphia offense. The matchup against Houston is not a good one on paper. The Texans are giving up the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position, with starting cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. not allowing a touchdown thus far. Houston will need Stingley Jr. to stay on top of Brown as much as possible, which should lead to Smith getting open. If he can continue to garner a high target share, he has a good chance to bounce back this week. Consider the 23-year-old receiver a back-end WR2 in Week 9 despite the tough matchup.
