Steelers Trading For William Jackson
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are finalizing a trade for Washington Commanders cornerback William Jackson on Tuesday, according to sources. It's unknown what the Commanders will receive in return. It comes after the Steelers traded receiver Chase Claypool to the Chicago Bears for a second-round pick in 2023. Jackson missed his third straight start for Washington in Week 8 due to a back injury, so it remains to be seen when he'll be able to make his Pittsburgh debut, but his presence will be an upgrade for a struggling Steelers secondary. They've allowed the second-most passing yards per game (277.3) through eight weeks of the season. Meanwhile, Washington's secondary won't be any better off without Jackson, although he hadn't been a great fit in their defensive scheme.
