Ranger Suarez To Start In Game 3 Of World Series
2 years agoWith Game 3 of the World Series being postponed from Monday to Tuesday, Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez will now start Game 3 against the Houston Astros instead of right-hander Noah Syndergaard. As such, Suarez would also get the nod in a potential Game 7 back in Houston. Austin Nola is set for Game 4 on Wednesday, with Syndergaard in line to pitch in Game 5 and Zack Wheeler possibly getting the ball in Game 6, if necessary. Suarez has yet to make a start in the World Series, but he did come on in relief in the Game 1 win and allowed a hit while striking out one in just two-thirds of an inning. In his four postseason appearances (two starts), the 27-year-old southpaw has given up three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking five and striking out nine in 9 2/3 frames.
